Since the beginning of 2025 and as of 27 February 2025, Argentina has reported 288 Zika cases in 2025. Argentina reported 564 cases in 2024 for the entire year.
Zika is endemic in Argentina. CDC does not classify Argentina as an area with a current outbreak (for outbreaks, see CDC Zika Travel Health Notices).
Prevention: Optimal mosquito bite protection 24/7, also in cities (during the day against dengue, chikungunya, Zika and other viruses, at dusk and at night against malaria).
Travellers should be aware of the ongoing ZIKV risk in Argentina and that Zika virus infection during pregnancy (any trimester) may cause fetal malformation.
