On 9 September 2026, Danish authorities reported six people hospitalized with severe botulism after botulinum toxin injections for excessive sweating or cosmetic purposes. The patients have not identified where or from whom they received treatment. An unapproved botulinum toxin product administered at an unregistered clinic or by an unauthorized provider is suspected. Investigations are ongoing.
