As of 4 October 2026, Senegal reported 248 confirmed diphtheria cases, including 11 deaths, across 51 health districts in 13 regions. Cases increased by 87 within one week, with transmission spreading to eight additional districts. Dakar is the most affected region (42 cases), followed by Kédougou (35) and Diourbel (33).
