According to media reports, at least 80 fishermen have fallen ill with an unclear skin disease in the suburbs of Dakar. Already, in 2020 several hundred fishermen in Senegal were affected by an unclear vesicular, highly itchy skin affliction, which was accompanied by fever and had occurred after returning from the sea (incubation period of several days).
